1. EVE Online and ESI

Terms from the game and from CCP's services that the app uses.

Adjusted price
CCP's own average price for an item, published by EVE. The game uses it (not market prices) to work out how much starting a job costs. Shown as CCP adjusted price on an item's panel.
Cost index (system cost index)
A percentage per solar system that rises the more industry is done there. Part of a job's install cost. Each job keeps the index it was started with.
Downtime
EVE's daily server restart at 11:00 EVE time. The clock at the top shows DT in …, and Downtime for the first 15 minutes after 11:00. The daily stock snapshot runs after it.
EIV (estimated item value)
The value of a job's inputs at adjusted prices. EVE bases the install cost on it.
ESI
EVE's official interface for apps. With your permission the app reads your jobs, skills, assets, wallet, contracts, mining and orders through it. See Sync and ESI.
EVE SSO
CCP's login page. You log in there, and the app never sees your password. See Logging in and your account.
EVE time
The game's clock, the same as UTC. Every time in the app is EVE time; hover a time to see it exactly, and turn on local time in tooltips under Settings→Display.
Install cost
The ISK EVE charges to start a job. The planner estimates it (marked est.); the real figure comes from ESI once the job runs.
Multibuy
EVE's window for buying many items at once from a pasted list. The app can copy a shopping list in its format.
NPC station
A station run by the game, such as Jita IV - Moon 4. Its market orders are public. Compare structure.
Omega
A paid EVE subscription. Alpha (free) characters cannot run reactions.
PI (planetary industry)
Making products on planets. Record what you make with Record→PI output. See Hauls and PI.
Customs tax
The tax for exporting goods from a planet. The app works out the cost of your PI products from it: a base value per product tier times your customs rate.
Portion
The smallest amount of ore that can be refined, usually 100 units. Anything under one portion stays as ore.
Re-authorise
Log in to EVE again with a character to renew the app's access: after a password change, when access was removed in EVE, or when the app needs a new permission. See Characters.
Scopes
The permissions you approve at login, such as reading industry jobs. All of them are read-only. A character missing a scope cannot sync that data until it is re-authorised.
SDE (static data export)
CCP's data on every item, recipe and structure. An admin imports it for everyone.
Security band
How safe a solar system is: High (0.5 and up), Low (0.1 to 0.4), Null (0.0 and below) or Wormhole. It changes how strong a structure's rig bonuses are.
Structure
A player-owned station (for example an Athanor or Tatara). Its market is private: only characters with docking access can read it.
Token
What EVE gives the app after you log in, so it can keep reading a character's data. The app stores it encrypted.

2. Reactions, slots and facilities

Facility
A structure you registered on Facilities, with its services, rigs and taxes, so the app can work out times, materials and yields. See Facilities.
Formula
The blueprint for a reaction: what goes in, what comes out, and how long it takes.
Job states
Running, Ready (to deliver), Paused, Delivered, Cancelled and Reverted, as EVE reports them. See Pipeline and jobs.
Paused
The structure went offline. The job keeps its slot and carries on when the structure is back.
Reaction
An industry job that combines moon materials (and other inputs) into a product in a refinery structure.
Reaction groups
Families of formulas: Composite (intermediate, advanced, alchemy, unrefined mineral), Hybrid, Biochemical and Molecular-Forged. Groups switched off under Settings→Reaction groups are still tracked but not offered in the Planner.
Reaction slot
Room for one running reaction job. Each character has 1 + its Mass Reactions level + its Advanced Mass Reactions level. A slot frees only when the job is delivered. See Slots.
Ready to deliver
The job's timer has ended but it has not been delivered in game. It still takes up its slot.
Remote range
How many jumps away a character can start reactions: 5 per level of Remote Reactions.

3. Stock and records

Adjustment
A hand-made correction to stock, with a reason: a loss, a gift, a fix. Record→Stock adjustment.
Compression
Packing ore, ice or gas into a smaller compressed form. Recorded so the stock and its cost follow.
Contract review
Telling the app what a contract was (Purchase, Sale, Transfer, Refine out, Refine return or Ignored) so it moves stock correctly. See Contracts.
Freight
What it costs to move goods, in ISK per m³ (Settings → Costing) or a fixed amount. Added to the cost of the stock you haul.
Haul
Moving materials between structures or characters. See Hauls and PI.
Holdings
What your characters hold according to EVE. See Stock.
Lot
One parcel of stock the app recorded (bought, mined, refined, reacted, hauled, entered), with its own cost per unit. See Lots.
Opening balance
Stock you already held when you started using the app, entered once with what it cost. See Getting started.
Reconciliation
Comparing the app's lots with what EVE says you hold, to find what was not recorded. See Reconciliation.
Record menu
The Record button at the top right: forms for everything ESI cannot see. See Recording.
Refine batch

4. Costs, value and prices

How the app turns records into money figures. The full explanation is in How costs and profit work.

Book value
What your stock cost you, from its lots.
Buy, Sell, Split price
Buy is the highest buy order (what you get selling to buy orders now). Sell is the lowest sell order (what you would list at). Split is halfway between, the default.
Cash margin
A job's output value minus what you actually paid for its inputs, install cost and overhead. Includes what you saved through cheap contracts or your own mining. See Margins.
Contract discount
The market value of what you bought on contracts minus what you paid for it.
FIFO (first in, first out)
When a job or sale uses stock, the oldest lots are used first, at their cost. See Lots.
Fallback market
Where the app takes a price when your valuation market has none for an item. Jita 4-4 unless changed.
Market value
What stock is worth now: quantity × the price at the chosen market.
Overhead
Extra cost per job. It is 0 unless you fuel the structure yourself.
Posting
Taking a job's inputs from your lots when EVE reports it, and adding its output as a new lot when it is delivered. See Posting.
Pending, Posted, Blocked, Ignored
A job's posting status. Pending: waiting to be posted. Posted: done. Blocked: could not be posted, usually because the inputs are not in your lots or the structure is not registered; the Inbox shows how to fix it (see ). : never costed, because it was started before , was cancelled before posting, or is not a reaction or manufacturing job.

5. Planning

Plan
A saved result from the Planner: what to make, the jobs, and who starts what. Its status is Draft, Scheduled, In progress, Done or Archived. See Plans.
Planned job
One job in a plan: Planned, Started and Delivered as EVE sees it happen, or Skipped.
Critical path
The shortest time a plan can finish in if every job could start the moment its inputs are ready, with unlimited free slots.
Serial time
How long a plan takes with every job done one after another.
Raw inputs, shortfall
Everything a plan needs from outside, and how much of it you do not hold yet: your shopping list.
Schedule
The plan spread over your characters' real slots. See Planner.
In-game checklist
A saved plan's list of exactly what to install, where, by whom and how many runs.
Next login
Your usual login time, set under Settings→Display. The Planner can size jobs to finish by then.

6. Accounts and the app

Account
Your private space: your characters and everything recorded for them. See Logging in and your account.
Action strip
The line under the header: ready to deliver, free slots, blocked, in inbox and at refiner, each linking to the page that deals with it.
Admin
Someone who runs the app: accounts, invites, shared markets and sign-up. See Administration.
Inbox item
Something the app needs you to decide or fix: Shortage, Re-auth, Contract, Refine, Stock gap or Other. See Inbox.
Instance setting
A setting shared by every account, such as who may sign up. Only an admin can change it.
Invite
A single-use link from an admin that lets one person create an account.
Live
The dot at the top: Live means pages update by themselves as jobs start, finish and sync.
Main character
The character whose name labels your account.
Session
One browser logged in to your account. It lasts 30 days from its last use.
Sync
Reading fresh data from EVE on a timer, per character and kind of data. See Sync and ESI.
Ticket
A bug report, feature request or question sent to the admins with Feedback. See Feedback and tickets.

Rigs
Modules fitted to a structure that make jobs faster, use fewer materials or refine better. Their strength depends on the security band.
SCC surcharge
A fixed percentage (4% by default) EVE adds to every job's cost. Set it under Settings → Costing.
Services
What a structure can do: Composite, Hybrid or Biochemical reactions, Reprocessing, Manufacturing.
Facility tax
The tax the structure's owner charges for jobs or refining there. Entered on the facility.
Ore reprocessed into minerals, recorded so the minerals get a cost. See Refining.
Refiner
Who reprocesses your ore: one of your own characters, or a contracted refiner who charges a fee.
Self-sourced
Stock you produced yourself (mined, refined or reacted) rather than bought.
Snapshot
A daily record of your stock value by where it is (in hangar, in jobs, pending output, on market). See Snapshot.
Tracked type
An item whose market price the app collects every hour. The admin limits how many one account may track.
Yield
The share of minerals you get back when refining. It depends on skills, implants, the structure and its rigs.
Blocked jobs
Ignored
Post jobs started after
Post jobs started after
The setting under Settings→General that says from when jobs are costed. Set it to when you took your opening balances.
Refine gain
The value of the minerals from a refine minus the value of the ore and the refining fees.
Sales profit
Sale revenue minus the book cost of what was sold and the estimated sales tax. Broker fees are not included.
Sales tax
EVE's tax on market sales: 7.5% before the Accounting skill lowers it (Settings → Costing).
Shared market
An NPC station market an admin added for every account, such as Jita or Amarr. See Choosing the market.
Structure market
A player structure's market that you added yourself under Settings→Markets and prices. Only your account uses it.
True margin
A job's output value minus its inputs at market value when they were used, install cost and overhead. Measures the reaction itself: negative means selling the inputs would have earned more.
Unrealised gain
Market value minus book value of stock you still hold: profit you would make by selling it now.
Valuation market
The market and price the Dashboard and reports value stock at, set under Settings→Costing. See Book and market value.
