1. What the Inbox is for

Everything the app could not do on its own and needs you to decide or fix, with a button for each fix.

The app records most things automatically from EVE. When it cannot (a job uses stock the app does not know about, a contract needs you to say what it was, a character must log in again), it puts an item in the Inbox. Each item says what is wrong in one sentence and has buttons that fix it, usually by opening a form that is already filled in.

The page has two parts:

Kinds
On the left: All and each kind of item with how many are open. Click one to show only that kind.
Items
On the right: the items, the ones that block posting first, each with its fix buttons.

The subtitle says how many items are open. The Inbox number in the sidebar and in the strip under the header (N in inbox) counts open items. It turns red when there is a shortage or a character to re-authorise, because those stop the app from costing your jobs. Work through red items first.

Many items clear themselves
The app checks again at every sync. When the cause goes away (the stock arrives, you log in again, EVE lists a job again), the item is resolved for you. You can also fix things elsewhere in the app; the matching item closes once the app sees the fix.

2. Working through an item

Each item shows:

Kind chip and message
What kind of item it is (Shortage, Contract, …) and what is wrong.
Links
The character it concerns, and where relevant the job, contract, refine batch or item, each a link to its page. Then how long ago the item was raised.
Buttons
The fixes for this kind of item. The first one is the usual fix. See the next section.
Details
Click to see the raw figures behind the item (quantities, dates, ids), when there are any.
  1. 1
    Start at the top
Items that block posting are listed first under Blocks posting; the rest follow under Everything else.
  2. 2
    Read the message
It names the job, contract or item and the quantity involved.
  3. 3
    Press the first button
Most buttons open a form (purchase, adjustment, refine batch, facility, contract review) with the item, character and quantity filled in, and the item's message at the top. Check the figures and save.
  4. 4
    Check it closed

3. Every kind of item and how to fix it

The kind chip tells you what sort of problem it is. Messages below are as they appear, with “…” for the details that vary.

Shortage: a job could not be costed

Job … can't be costed: short N of …. A job used more of an input than your recorded stock holds, so its posting is Blocked. The job runs on in game; only its cost is missing. Usually you bought, refined or hauled the input without recording it. Shortages block posting and turn the Inbox badge red.

Retry posting
Tries again now. Use it after fixing the stock somewhere else. Result: Job … posted · inbox item resolved or Still blocked: ….
Create refine batch
The input came from refining ore you have not recorded. Opens the refine form; posting is retried after you save.
Record purchase
You bought the input. Opens the purchase form with the item and the missing quantity; posting is retried after you save.
Adjust stock
For anything else (a gift, a transfer, a correction). Opens an adjustment with the item, quantity and reason; posting is retried after you save.

Blocked jobs are also retried at every jobs sync, so stock you record elsewhere clears the shortage within 10 minutes. See Blocked jobs and Recording what ESI cannot see.

Re-auth: a character must log in again

… needs to log in again: …. EVE refused the character's login (for example after a password change, or you revoked the app on the EVE website). Nothing for that character syncs until you fix it. Re-auth items turn the Inbox badge red.

4. Dismissing and resolving items

Mark resolved
You have dealt with it. The item closes and appears under Status → Resolved. If the app finds the same problem again later, it reopens it.
Dismiss
Not relevant: hide it. A message Item dismissed with Undo appears for 5 seconds. After that the item stays dismissed for good, even if the app finds the same problem again.
Dismissing does not fix anything
Dismissing a shortage leaves the job blocked and out of your profit figures. Dismissing a contract leaves it unreviewed, so it moves no stock. Dismiss only items you are sure do not matter, such as contracts from before you started using the app.

Dismissing many items at once

  1. 1
    Narrow the list
Pick a kind on the left (for example Contract) and a Character if needed.
  2. 2
    Select items
Tick the box on each item, or the Select box at the top of the list to select every item on this page (50 per page). The label changes to N selected.
  3. 3
    Press Dismiss selected (N)
A dialog asks Dismiss N items?

5. Filters and past items

Kinds
All, Shortage, Re-auth, Contract, Refine, Stock gap and Other, each with its number of open items (Counts are open items.). Shortage and Re-auth counts are red when above zero.
Character
Only items about one character, or All.
Status
Open (the default), Resolved, Dismissed or All. Resolved and dismissed items show when they were closed, but have no buttons (Read-only: … items have no actions).

Items are listed 50 per page; use Previous and Next at the bottom. Filters are kept in the page address.

Coming from another page

The Fix link on a blocked job (Pipeline) opens the Inbox with only that job's items and a note Showing items for job …; Show all removes it. Open inbox → in a job's side panel on Slots opens the Shortage items.

When the list is empty

Inbox zero. Nothing needs you right now. means there is nothing to do. Nothing open here means nothing matches the kind or character you picked.

6. Raise stock gaps

Check your whole stock against EVE and turn every difference into an Inbox item.

Raise stock gaps at the top right compares, for every character and item, what the app has recorded with what EVE reports in hangars and on sell orders. It opens a Stock gap item for each difference, and resolves gap items whose difference has gone. Gaps you dismissed stay dismissed. The message says, for example, Raised 4, resolved 2, kept 1 dismissed · 3 skipped (timing or no asset data).

skipped means the difference is probably timing (EVE updates assets about once an hour) or the character has no asset data yet. Run it again after the next asset update. The same check, with more detail and a fix button per row, is on Stock → Reconciliation.

Inbox

Why is the Inbox number red?

There is at least one open Shortage or Re-auth item. Both stop the app from costing jobs. Click Shortage or Re-auth on the left and fix them first.

My first sync filled the Inbox with old contracts.

Set Settings→General→Post jobs started after to the day you started using the app. Then click Contract on the left, select the old ones with Select and press Dismiss selected. This cannot be undone, so leave any recent contract you still need to review.

I dismissed an item by mistake.

Press Undo in the message within 5 seconds. After that, or after a bulk dismiss, it cannot be reopened. Fix the cause directly instead: review the contract on Contracts, retry the job on its page, or record the stock from the Record menu.

“Still blocked: short … of …” after Retry posting.

Your records still hold less than the job used. Record the missing quantity with Record purchase, Create refine batch or Adjust stock on the same item; posting is retried when you save.

Do I have to press Re-authorise in the Inbox, or on Characters?

Either. Both open the EVE login. Once you log in with that character the Re-auth item resolves itself. See the Characters guide.

What is the difference between Mark resolved and Dismiss?

Mark resolved means you dealt with it; if the same problem comes back, the item reopens. Dismiss means it does not matter; it never comes back. Both leave the list.

I fixed the problem but the item is still open.

Some items close at the next sync, when the app sees the fix (blocked jobs are retried at every jobs sync, every 5 to 10 minutes). For a job item press to check now; for others press .

Something unclear or out of date? Ask your admin. All guides

Saving resolves the item, or retries the job's posting, which resolves it when it succeeds. A message at the bottom of the screen says what happened.
  • 5
    Not relevant?
Press Dismiss. See Dismissing and resolving.
  • Re-authorise
Opens the EVE login. Log in with that character and accept; you come back to Characters. The item resolves itself once the login succeeds.

Contract: a finished contract to review

Contract … (purchase, “…”) is finished: confirm its direction and prices. The app guessed what the contract was; you confirm it, so stock moves correctly.

    Review contract
Opens Review contract …: choose whether it was a purchase, sale, transfer, refine out or refine return and check the prices. Saving resolves the item. See the Contracts guide.

A dismissed contract stays unreviewed and moves no stock. When there are more than 50 contracts to review, a note suggests setting Settings→General→Post jobs started after and dismissing old contracts in bulk (see bulk dismiss).

Refine: a refine return that does not match

Refine batch … returned different quantities than expected. What came back from a refine differs from what the app expected, or a mineral is missing. Details lists each mineral with the expected and actual amount. The minerals that did come back are already in your stock.

    View batch
Opens the refine batch to compare. See the Refining guide.
    Mark resolved
You have checked it (for example the refiner kept a fee in minerals). Closes the item.

Stock gap: your records and EVE disagree

Several situations raise a stock gap. Each has Adjust stock and Mark resolved:

    …: lots hold N …, ESI shows M (+D). …
Raised by Raise stock gaps or from Reconciliation: the app's records and what EVE says you hold differ by D; the last sentence suggests the likely cause. Adjust stock opens an adjustment with the difference filled in. If the cause was a purchase, refine or sale, record that instead from Stock → Reconciliation, which has a button for each.
Sale … of N × type … is short S in the lots and was not posted; …
You sold something the app had no record of (usually stock you had before you started). The sale is not counted in profit. Record an opening balance for it, or Adjust stock (filled in with the short quantity).
Job … ended … but ESI no longer lists it …
A job well past its end disappeared from EVE without being delivered (or EVE stopped listing it). Check in game what happened and adjust the stock to match. Resolves itself if EVE lists the job again.
Mining ledger for … dropped from N to M; lots were not reduced
EVE's mining ledger went down, which should not happen. The app did not remove stock; adjust it yourself if you really have less.

    Other

Everything else, each with its own fix:

Job … can't be posted: facility … not registered
The job runs in a structure you have not registered, so its posting is blocked. Register facility opens the facility form with the structure id filled in; when you save, posting is retried. See the Facilities guide. Retry posting tries again if you registered it elsewhere.
Job … can't be posted: no reaction recipe for blueprint type …
The game data the app uses does not know this recipe yet. Import static data opens Settings; the import is on the Static data tab and only an admin can run it (see Settings). Then press Retry posting.
Job … uses blueprint type …, which is not in the static data: …
The same cause, for a job the app could not even store. Ask an admin to import the latest static data; Mark resolved once done.
Job … was cancelled after its inputs were posted; adjust the stock to match what you got back
The app took the inputs from stock when the job started; when you cancel, EVE returns some of them, but the app cannot tell how many. Adjust stock to add back what you got, then Mark resolved.
Job … (N runs) may belong to a saved plan: … Link it to the right planned job, or dismiss.
The app found more than one planned job this job could be. Link plan job lists the candidates (plan, job, runs, and runs differ when they do not match); press Link on the right one. That marks the planned job started and resolves the item. Hide plan jobs closes the list. See the Plans guide.
… was transferred to another EVE account: …
The character was sold or moved to another EVE account, so its sync stopped. Its history stays with you. Mark resolved once you have read it.
Market …: ESI refused the structure's market orders (403, …). The market is deactivated; …
The character used for a structure market lost access to it. Fix the access in game, then switch the market back on under Settings→Markets and prices; the item then resolves itself.
SDE build … added reaction formula …: check its classification
A new static data import added a reaction. For admins: check it is in the right reaction group, then Mark resolved.

    Confirm
Press Dismiss. The message says Dismissed N items (or how many failed). Repeat for the next page.
    Bulk dismiss cannot be undone
Dismissed items leave the inbox and stay dismissed; there is no undo. Contracts you dismiss stay unreviewed and post nothing. There is no Undo message for a bulk dismiss, and no way to reopen a dismissed item. If you dismiss an old contract that mattered, you can still review it from Contracts.
