Job costing cut-off, costing and valuation rules, reaction groups, mined ore cost, markets and tracked prices, static data and display preferences.

The rules the app uses to cost your stock and value it, which reactions the Planner offers, where prices come from, and how pages look.
Settings has seven tabs, listed down the left (along the top on a narrow screen). The defaults suit most people: the only setting nearly everyone should set is Post jobs started after on the General tab.
Your settings belong to your account: changing them never affects anyone else, except the instance settings marked below.
Every setting on the General, Costing, Mined ore and Markets and prices tabs looks the same.
Percentages are typed as percent: 4 means 4%. ISK amounts accept 500, 1.2k or 3m.
Jobs started before this date and time are stored but never costed. EVE sends the last 90 days of jobs on the first sync; without this cut-off the app would try to cost every one of them from stock it has no record of, and fill the Inbox with shortages.
Set it to the moment you entered your opening balances (see Recording an opening balance). Enter it in EVE time; Clear removes it. Default: not set (every job is costed). Jobs already costed are never undone when you change it. See Posting.
Admins also see a note that sign-up, character and tracked-item limits are on Admin → Registration and limits.
Lots store their unit cost when they are created, so a costing change affects events recorded afterwards; existing lots keep their cost.
Choose which kinds of reactions the Planner and the item pickers offer. Every group is always tracked.
Each row is a group of reaction formulas with its number of recipes, and on the right whether it is In planner or Tracked only. A group that is not ticked is still followed everywhere else: its jobs are costed and its stock and profit appear as normal. Unticking only hides it from planning.
Mined ore is free in ISK, but you may want to give it a cost (your time, a buyback price) so profit is not overstated.
The table shows each Ore, its ISK / m³, its volume (m³ / unit), the resulting Unit cost of a mined unit and when it was Updated. Remove deletes an override after you confirm: the global rate then applies to that ore for lots recorded from now on. With no overrides the table says No per-ore overrides. See Recording mined ore.
Where prices come from, which items get prices, and the ESI budget.
Every market the app reads prices from once an hour. Two kinds appear: Shared markets, which an admin added for everyone (NPC trade hubs such as Jita 4-4), and Yours, the player structure markets you added. Shared markets are read only here: only an admin can add them or turn them on and off (see Shared markets).
The solar system must already be known to the app. The easy way is to register a facility in that system first. Otherwise you see Solar system … not found. Solar system … is in region …, not … means the region id is wrong.
Prices are only collected for tracked items, every hour, at every active market. Your account starts with a set already tracked (reaction materials and products, ore, minerals and the like). The line above the list says n types shown · m tracked hourly.
You can also switch on Track price hourly from an item's panel on Stock. Each account can track a limited number of items (1,000 unless an admin changed it); at the limit you see This account already tracks 1000 types (maxTrackedTypesPerAccount): stop tracking one first.
Both are greyed out unless you are an admin. You can watch them working on Sync and ESI.
EVE's item, recipe and reprocessing data, imported from CCP's Static Data Export (SDE). Shared by every account.
The SDE imports table lists each version loaded: Build (the newest is marked latest), Released, Imported, Source, Recipes (how many formulas it had), Still current (how many of them are still in use) and Notes. Older jobs keep the formula version they ran with, so a later change by CCP does not alter past costs.
Only admins import a new version. Everyone else sees Static data is shared: an admin imports it. If CCP changes a formula and your plans look wrong, ask an admin to import the new SDE.
These preferences live in this browser only (cookies); they do not change any data.
Changes take effect immediately; there is no Save button. On another browser or computer you set them again.

Settings→General→Post jobs started after: set it to when you entered your opening balances. Everything else can stay at its default until you need it. See Getting started.
That is by design. Each lot keeps the cost it was given when recorded, so freight, mined ore, purchase price and similar settings only affect what you record afterwards. See Lots.
The valuation and fallback market settings take the Location id of a market already in the Markets list on Markets and prices. Copy the number from that column. To use a new structure market, add it there first.
The Stock page has its own market and price picker that affects only that page. The Dashboard and Reports use Valuation market location id and Valuation price field on the Costing tab.
They are instance settings, shared by every account on this app, so only admins can change them. The same goes for sign-up and the character and tracked-item limits, which admins manage on Admin → Registration and limits.
Its group may be switched off. Tick it on the Reaction groups tab and press Save groups. Also check that a facility with the right reactor service online exists (Recipe support).
It is probably not tracked. Find it under Tracked types with Include untracked on, and switch Hourly prices to Tracked. Prices arrive with the next hourly run.
Open Runs to read the error. Usually the auth character cannot dock there or lacks the structure market permission: choose another Auth character or re-authorise it on Characters.
