Keyboard shortcuts

The ⌘K search, go-to keys, the Record menu, and moving through tables, the Planner and timelines from the keyboard.

1. How shortcuts work

Press ? on any page to see the main shortcuts. Everything they do can also be done with the mouse.

There are two kinds:

⌘K on a Mac, Ctrl K elsewhere: Opens search from anywhere, even while you are typing in a box. It always works.
Single keys: g, n, / and ?. They do nothing while you are typing in a box, while a dialog or panel is open, or when you hold ⌘, Ctrl or Alt, so they never get in the way of typing.

Turning single-key shortcuts off

If you press them by accident, switch off Single-key shortcuts under Settings→Display. ⌘K keeps working. The choice is kept in this browser only (see the Settings guide).

2. Search and commands (⌘K)

One box to go anywhere, find any item, open a record by its number, or start an action.

Press ⌘K / Ctrl K, or click Search types, jobs, lots at the top left. Start typing in Type a page, an item, an action or an id…. Move through the results with ↑ ↓, press Enter to choose, and Esc (or ⌘K again) to close. The results are grouped:

Pages: Every page in the sidebar, Admin included for admins. Type part of the name, such as “refi” for Refining.
Guides: Every guide, shown as Guide: … . Matches words from the guide's title and summary.
Items: Type two or more letters of an item name. Up to 8 matches appear with their group; choosing one opens it on the Stock page.
Open by id: Type a number (3 to 19 digits) to get Job …, Lot … and Contract …, each opening that record's page. Job and contract numbers are EVE's; lot numbers are the app's (Stock → Lots).
Actions: Record purchase, , , , , , , and open the same forms as the Record menu. opens the Planner. fetches industry jobs for all your characters at once and tells you how many synced and how many failed.

3. Go to a page: g then a letter

Press g, let go, then press the letter within about a second.

g p: Pipeline
g s: Slots
g i: Inbox
g l: Planner
g r: Refining
g h: Guides and FAQ

4. Other single keys

n: Opens the Record menu at the top right. Use ↑ ↓ and Enter to pick a form. See Recording.
?: Shows the Keyboard shortcuts list, with a link to this guide.
/: Meant to jump to the page's filter box. No page has a filter box connected to it yet, so for now it does nothing: click the search or filter box instead.

5. Tables and lists

Tables whose rows open something can be used without the mouse.

Tab: Moves to the next button, link or row. Press it until a table row is outlined.
↑ ↓: Move to the row above or below.
Enter: Opens the row: usually a side panel (Holdings, Lots, jobs, contracts, plans, reports) or its page.
Esc: Closes the side panel, dialog or menu that is open.

Item and recipe pickers

In a box that suggests items as you type: ↑ ↓ move through the suggestions, Enter picks the highlighted one, Esc closes the list.

6. Keys on particular pages

⌘↵ / Ctrl ↵: Planner: plans (the same as pressing Plan), from anywhere on the page, even while typing in a box. See Planner.
← →: Planner results: with a tab focused (Tree, Raw inputs, Jobs, Schedule, …), move to the previous or next tab.
Planner Tree: With a row focused: ↑ ↓ move between steps, → expands a step, ← collapses it or jumps to its parent, Enter or Space shows or hides its materials.
[ ]: In a job's side panel (opened from a jobs table, such as on Pipeline): the previous or next job in the table.
Slots timeline: On Slots → Timeline, with a bar focused (press Tab to reach one): ← → move along the row, move to the nearest bar in the row above or below, jump to the first or last bar in the row, and opens it.
