1. What the Contracts page is for

Every contract your characters took part in, and the place where you tell the app what each one was.

The app reads your characters' contracts from EVE once an hour. A contract only changes your stock after you review it: you confirm what it was (a purchase, a sale, a move between your own characters, ore sent to or back from a refiner, or nothing to do with stock) and, for purchases and sales, what each item was worth. Then you post it and the app creates or uses the right lots.

Contracts (under Stock in the sidebar) has:

Needs review / All
Two views. Needs review (the default) lists only the contracts waiting for you; All lists every contract.
Direction, Status, Character
Filters for the list. Clear removes them all.
The list
One row per contract, 50 per page. Click a row that needs review to open the review form; click any other row to open the contract's own page.

New contracts that need review also appear in the Inbox as Contract items, so you can review them from there as well. Both places open the same review form.

2. Why contracts need a review

EVE says a contract happened. It does not say what it was for.

A contract in EVE is just items and ISK changing hands. The same contract shape can be a purchase from another player, a sale, moving stock from one of your alts to another, or sending ore to a refiner. Each of those has to be booked differently:

  • A purchase adds stock at the price you paid.
  • A sale removes stock and counts the profit.
  • A transfer moves stock between your characters at its existing cost, with no profit.
  • A refine contract belongs to a refine batch, not to your profit.
  • So the app makes a guess, shows it to you and waits. Nothing is added to or taken from your stock until you post the review. Until then the contract's items are invisible to your lots, and the Stock page's Reconciliation tab may show a gap for them.

    Which contracts need a review

Only contracts that are Finished and that the app guessed as something other than Ignored. Outstanding, in progress, cancelled, deleted or rejected contracts did not move anything, so there is nothing to review. Courier and loan contracts are guessed as Ignored and never need a review.

    How the guess is made

    Courier or loan
    Ignored: not a stock movement.
    Both sides are your characters
    Transfer.
Your character accepted it from someone else
Purchase (or Sale if the other player only asked for items, a “want to buy” contract).
Your character issued it and someone else accepted
Sale (or Purchase for your own “want to buy” contract).
    Anything else
Ignored, for example a contract to your corporation.

The app never guesses Refine out or Refine return: pick those yourself.

    3. The contract list

Find the contracts waiting for you, or look up any old one.

In the All view, contracts that need review are listed first under Needs review, then the rest under Reviewed or not reviewable. Within each group the newest contract comes first. Use Previous and Next under the list to page through.

    Filters

    Character
Top right. Only contracts stored by that character (the one whose sync found the contract).
    Direction
Chips: Purchase, Sale, Transfer, Refine out, Refine return, Ignore. Click a chip again to clear it. For unreviewed contracts this filters on the app's guess.
    Status
EVE's status for the contract, for example finished, outstanding or deleted. Leave it on All to see every status.

    The columns

    Issued
When the contract was created in EVE.
    Title
The contract's description from EVE, or Untitled, followed by its contract number. Hover a long title to read it all.
    Type
Item exchange, Auction, Courier, Loan or Unknown.
    Issuer → Acceptor
Who created it and who accepted it. Your own characters are shown by name; anyone else is shown as #their EVE id.
    Price
The ISK the acceptor paid the issuer.
    Items
How many item lines the contract has. 0 can mean the items have not been fetched yet.
    Direction
What the contract is booked as. · guessed after the name means it is still the app's guess and has not been reviewed.
    Status
EVE's status: Finished (green), Outstanding or In progress (still open), Deleted, Rejected or Failed (red), and others such as Cancelled or Reversed.
    Reviewed
The date you posted the review; or Needs review if it is waiting for you; or – when there is nothing to review (not finished yet, or guessed as Ignored).

    When the list is empty

    No contracts need review
You are up to date. New finished contracts appear after the next contracts sync.
    No contracts yet
No contract has synced yet. Check the contracts row on Sync and ESI.
    No contracts match these filters
Press Clear or change the character.

To open a contract by its number from anywhere, press ⌘K (Ctrl K), type the number and pick Contract ….

    4. Reviewing a contract

Confirm the direction, check the prices, post. About a minute per contract.

    1. 1
      Open the review form
Click a Needs review row on Contracts, press Review contract on the contract's page, or press Review contract on its Inbox item. A panel titled Review contract … opens with the contract's title, type, dates, price, reward, the two parties and which of your characters stored it.
    2. 2
      Check the direction
Under Direction the app's guess is selected and marked · guessed. If it is right, leave it. If not, pick the right one. Hover a choice for a one-line reminder. See the directions below.
    3. 3
For a purchase or sale, check the prices
Leave Allocation on Market share unless you agreed a price per item; then choose Custom prices and type them in. See prices below.
    4. 4
For a refine contract, pick the batch
Choose the batch in Refine batch (at refiner). See refine contracts below.
    5. 5
      Read the dry run
Under the items the app tries the posting without saving it and shows Would post or Would fail with the reason. Fix the reason before posting (see the FAQ for common ones).
    6. 6
      Post it
Press Post contract (or Mark ignored for Ignore). A message confirms Contract posted · N lots created with a View link, the contract leaves Needs review and its Inbox item is closed.
    Posting is final
Once posted, the direction and prices cannot be changed and the review cannot be undone. Check the dry run first. If you posted something wrong, see fixing a mistake.

The items table in the form

    Item
Each item line. Items marked you gave (and dimmed) moved from your character to the other party; the rest came to you.
    Qty
    Units on that line.
    Market/unit
The item's price at your valuation market when the contract finished. “No market price at completion” when there was none.
    Allocated/unit
Purchases and sales only: the share of the contract price the app gave each unit (see Market share).
    Your price/unit
Custom prices only: the box where you type your own price.
    Line total
Purchases and sales only: quantity × the price that will be used, from the dry run.

The bar at the bottom shows the Contract price and, for purchases and sales, the market value of what you received.

    5. The directions

Pick the one that describes what really happened.

    Purchase
You bought the items. Each item you received becomes a new lot for the character that stored the contract, at its allocated or custom price, located where the contract was. If the contract also took items from you (a swap), those leave your stock as a contract sale.
    Sale
You sold the items. They are taken from your oldest lots first and the sale price per unit is their share of the ISK you got. The profit shows on the Sales tab of Profit. Items you received in return (a swap) become lots.
    Transfer
Moving stock between two of your characters. The units move at the cost they already had, with no freight and no profit, like a haul. Both the issuer and the acceptor must be characters on your account. Units the giving character has no record of are skipped rather than blocking the review.
    Refine out
Ore you sent to a contracted refiner. It links the contract to the refine batch you recorded; the batch already took the ore out of your stock.
    Refine return
Minerals coming back from a contracted refiner. The items in the contract are recorded as the batch's actual output, which completes the batch.
    Ignore
Not a stock movement: a courier job, an unrelated deal, a contract you already recorded another way. Nothing is posted. The button becomes Mark ignored, and the contract shows Ignored afterwards.
    Courier contracts
When you open a courier contract with any direction other than Ignore, the form warns Courier contracts usually are not stock movements; consider Ignore. Moving your own goods with a courier is better recorded as a haul, so the courier fee becomes freight: see Recording a haul.

    6. Prices: market share or custom

A contract has one price for many items. The app has to split it to give each item a cost.

    Market share
The default. The contract price is split across the items you received in proportion to their market value when the contract finished. Example: you pay 100M for items worth 60M and 60M at market; each line is costed at 50M. For a “want to buy” contract the reward is split the same way across the items asked for.
    Custom prices
You type a price per unit in Your price/unit. Use it when you agreed a price per item, or when market share gives a silly split (for example an item with no market price). A blank box keeps the allocated price. Amounts like 1.2k, 3.5m or 1,234.56 are accepted; a box turns red if it is not an ISK amount.
Custom prices set the cost, not the value
For a purchase, your price becomes the lot's cash cost (what you paid). Its market value stays the price at your valuation market. The gap between the two is the contract discount you see on the Contracts tab of Profit and on the Dashboard. Lots with a custom price carry a custom chip. For a sale, your price becomes the sale price per unit of the items you handed over.

    The dry run figures

    Received total
What the items you received will cost, at the prices shown.
    Given total
The sale value of the items you handed over.
    Market value received
What the items you received were worth at market.
    Difference to price
Purchases only: received total minus the contract price. A green 0 means your prices add up to what you paid. Any other number means your custom prices do not add up; it does not stop you posting, but your costs will not match the ISK that left your wallet.

If some items had no market price when the contract finished, the form notes Some items have no market price at completion: market share allocation may be uneven for them. Use Custom prices for those.

    7. Refine out and refine return contracts

For ore you send to a player who refines it for you.

A contracted refine has two contracts: the ore going out and the minerals coming back. Both belong to a refine batch, which you record first under Record→Refine batch with the contracted refiner and no actual quantities. That batch shows as At refiner until the minerals are back. See the Refining guide.

    1. 1
Review the outgoing contract as Refine out
Choose Refine out and pick the batch in Refine batch (at refiner). The list shows batches waiting at a refiner as #id · ore × quantity · your character → refiner. The batch owner must be a party to the contract.
    2. 2
Review the return contract as Refine return
Choose Refine return and pick the same batch. The minerals in the contract become lots for the batch owner, who must be the character that received the contract. If the amounts differ from what the batch expected, a Refine item opens in the Inbox.

If the list says No batches at a refiner, the form offers Record refine batch: record the batch, then review the contract again. Posting stays disabled with Pick the refine batch this contract belongs to until a batch is chosen.

    8. A contract's own page

Everything about one contract and what its review did to your stock.

Open it by clicking a reviewed row in the list, the View link after posting, a sale on the Profit page, or a lot's source link. The header shows the title, contract number, type, direction and status, with Review contract when it still needs one. A banner says where it stands:

Reviewed … direction and prices are final.
    Posted. Nothing more to do.
Not reviewed yet: the direction is a guess and nothing is posted.
    Press Review contract.
    Nothing to review
Not finished, or guessed as Ignored: it does not move stock.

    The panels

    Summary
Issued, Completed, Issuer, Acceptor, Stored by (whose sync found it), Price, Reward, Items, Allocation (Market share or Custom prices) and Reviewed.
    Items
Each line with Moves (who handed it to whom), Qty, Allocated/unit and Market/unit at completion.
    Lots created
The lots the review created, with Cash cost/unit (a custom chip for your own price), Market/unit and how many are left. Click a lot number to open it. Shown for purchases, or whenever lots exist.
    Stock consumed
The lots the review used up, with Kind (for example Contract sale), Cash cost/unit and Sale price/unit. Shown for sales and refine out, or whenever stock was used.
    Linked refine batches
For refine contracts: the batch, whether this contract sent the ore out or brought the minerals back, and the batch status.

    9. Fixing a mistake after posting

There is no undo, but you can correct the stock.

A posted review cannot be edited or reversed. If you chose the wrong direction or price, correct the result with a stock adjustment:

    1. 1
      Open the contract's page
Look at Lots created and Stock consumed to see exactly what the review did.
    2. 2
      Record the correction
Use Record→Stock adjustment to add or remove the units, with a reason such as “Contract 123 posted as purchase by mistake”. For a wrong cost, remove the units and add them back with the right Unit cash cost for additions. See Stock adjustments.
    Profit already counted stays counted
A sale posted by mistake has already been counted on the Profit page for its date. Adjusting stock fixes your lots but does not remove that sale from the report.

    10. Old contracts from before you started

The first sync can bring in months of old contracts. You do not have to review them.

EVE returns your recent contract history, so the first sync may raise a review for contracts from before your opening balances. Reviewing them would add or remove stock twice. Dismiss them instead:

    1. 1
      Open the Inbox
Inbox, then click Contract in the Kinds list.
    2. 2
      Select them
Tick the contracts from before you started, or tick Select at the top to select every item on the page.
    3. 3
      Dismiss
Press Dismiss selected (N) and confirm. Repeat for each page.
    Bulk dismiss cannot be undone
The confirmation says it: Dismissed items leave the inbox and stay dismissed; there is no undo. Contracts you dismiss stay unreviewed and post nothing. A single Dismiss button on one item gives you 5 seconds to undo.

A dismissed contract is still unreviewed, so it still appears under Needs review on the Contracts page and you can review it there later if you change your mind. The Post jobs started after setting does not hide old contracts; it only applies to industry jobs.

    11. Common questions

Click a question to open it.

    Contracts

Why do I have to review contracts at all?

EVE says a contract happened, not what it was for. Reviewing tells the app whether it was a purchase, a sale, a transfer between your characters, a refine contract or nothing, and what each item cost. Nothing changes in your stock until you press Post contract.

I paid a special price on a contract. How do I enter it?

In the review choose Allocation → Custom prices and type your price per unit. That sets what the stock cost you; its market value stays the market price, and the difference shows as contract discount on Profit. Check that Difference to price shows 0.

The review says “Not enough stock” or “Character … is short … of type …”.

You are posting a sale (or a swap) of items the app has no lots for, usually because they were bought or made before you started tracking. Press Adjust stock in the message to add the missing units with a cost, then post again. If the contract is from before you started, dismiss it instead (see old contracts).

The review says “has no items stored yet; wait for the next contracts sync”.

The app has the contract but not its item list yet. Items arrive with the next contracts sync (hourly). Check Sync and ESI, or run a contracts sync there.

The review says “only finished contracts can be posted as …”.

Purchases, sales, transfers and refine returns can only be posted once EVE reports the contract as finished, because before that nothing has moved. Wait until the contract is accepted and completed.

Transfer fails with “TRANSFER needs both issuer and acceptor … to be your characters”.

A transfer is only between two characters added to your account. If the other side is someone else (or a corporation), it is a purchase or a sale. If it is your alt, add that character on Characters first.

A contract was guessed as Ignored but it was really a purchase. How do I review it?

Contracts guessed as Ignored do not show a Review contract button. Record the stock by hand instead: Record→Purchase (or Sale) with the contract's items, quantities and prices. See Recording a purchase.

My first sync filled the Inbox with old contracts.

In the Inbox, pick the Contract kind, select the ones from before you started and press Dismiss selected. Dismissed contracts stay unreviewed and post nothing. Bulk dismiss cannot be undone.

Can I change a contract after I posted it?

No: direction and prices are final once posted. Correct the stock with a Record→Stock adjustment. See fixing a mistake.
