Record materials moved between structures or characters with their freight, and planetary products you made yourself.

Two things EVE cannot tell the app: stock you moved, and planetary products you made.
Hauls and PI (under Stock in the sidebar) has two tabs:
Both tabs list what you have recorded, filtered by Character and a date range (24h, 7d, 30d, 90d, This month or Custom; 30 days by default). The button at the top right records a new one: Record haul or Record PI output. You can also record both from the Record menu in the header on any page (Haul or transfer and PI output).
Do this when you move materials, so the app knows where they are and what moving them cost.
A haul is one character moving stock between locations (for example from the refinery to the reaction Tatara). A transfer moves stock to another of your characters, with or without changing location. Both use the same form.
Freight is part of what your materials cost, so it reaches your job margins.
Example: you move 10,000 m³ at 500 ISK per m³. Freight is 5,000,000 ISK. An item at 0.05 m³ per unit gets 25 ISK per unit added to its cost.
Set it in Settings→Costing→Freight rate (ISK per m³) (0 until you change it). It is used whenever you leave the rate blank. Changing it only affects hauls you record afterwards; past hauls keep their freight. See Settings.
Every haul and transfer recorded in the chosen period, newest first.
The Character filter shows hauls where that character is either the sender or the receiver. Click a column heading to sort; Columns shows or hides columns (the haul number column # is hidden at first). Click a row to open the haul.
Empty list? No hauls recorded means nothing in the period: widen the date range or press Record haul. No hauls for this character means the character filter hides them.
Exactly what was moved and how the freight was spread.
The header shows Haul #N with its kind, the from and to locations, and the time. ← Hauls goes back to the list.
There is no edit or delete for a haul. If you recorded one by mistake, record the reverse move (with freight 0), or correct the stock with Record→Stock adjustment.
Give the planetary products you made a cost, so fuel blocks made from them are costed correctly.
Record PI output when the products reach a hangar the app can see, for example after you haul them up from the customs office. The cost per unit is the export tax you paid plus anything else you spent per unit.
Every PI output you recorded in the period, and how much of it is left.
Each row is one lot of PI output. Click a row to open the lot and see what it went into.
Empty list? No PI output recorded is normal unless you make your own fuel blocks.
A PI output cannot be edited or deleted. To correct one, use Record→Stock adjustment to remove the wrong units and record the output again. See Stock adjustments.
Click a question to open it.
Record a haul when the move cost you something (so the cost reaches your margins) or when the app needs to know where stock is. Moves that cost nothing between places you do not track separately can be skipped. Transfers between characters must be recorded (or the contract reviewed as Transfer), otherwise the wrong character holds the stock in the app.
The sending character has fewer units in the app's lots than you are moving, at the chosen From location. Set From location to Any location, or first record where the stock came from (purchase, refine, opening balance). The Reconciliation tab on Stock shows what is missing.
That is on purpose: a lot keeps the cost it was given. The new rate applies to hauls you record from now on.
Record a haul with Fixed freight ISK and the courier reward as the total. The courier contract itself is treated as Ignored and never asks for a review, so nothing is counted twice.
The location is not one of your registered facilities. Add the structure on Facilities and it will show by name.
The PI output form only offers planetary commodities (P0 to P4). Check the spelling; if it is a fuel block or another manufactured item, it is not PI output.
The cost is what you actually spent: export tax and any extra per unit. The market price is kept as the lot's market value, so the difference shows up as value captured by sourcing on the Profit page. See cash and true margin.

Moving stock between your own characters by an in-game contract? Review that contract as a Transfer instead of recording it twice: see Contracts.
EVE charges export tax on a fixed base value per tier of product, not on the market price. The app does the same:
Unit cost = base value for the tier × your customs tax rate + extra cost per unit.
Example: 1,000 units of a P2 product through a 10% customs office cost 7,200 × 10% = 720 ISK each. These base values are the defaults; they are under Settings→Costing→PI customs base values. PI output counts as self-sourced, like mined ore.
